The NDIS is a government operated insurance scheme that is run by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), an independent statutory agency. The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disabilities and also connects participants to useful organisations in their community. They support over 550,000 Australians with disabilities to access the services and support needed to access new skills, jobs or volunteering in their community.
